Welcome to my blook.
This is my first attempt at writing a novel and I have decided to write it in blog format. We can call it an experiment in the public creation of a story. I suggest you start reading from the beginning otherwise it might not make much sense.

I’m just splurging it out one page at a time without really doing much in the way of proofreading or editing. The plan is to get 30k words done first and then start the rewrites. So, as it stands it’s going to be full of spelling mistakes, plot holes and just plain bad grammar. Please feel free to point errors out in the comments if you come across them as I would love the help.
Ultimately I plan to self-publish the novel when I have finished rewriting. I am currently working my way through the second draft and desperately need help from proof readers or beta readers. If you fancy the job and a chance to read the novel before it becomes super famous and stuff, then please feel free to get in touch with me and I will add you as an editor to my project.
I will be illustrating scenes from the story by typing details relevant to each post into google images. I realize that this is not entirely ethical but I’m too lazy to create my own images so that’s that. All images are copyright of their respective owners. If you own an image that I have used and would like it removed, please contact me and I will be happy to oblige.

edit – 23/09/2012
I have recently commissioned an artist from DeviantArt.com to illustrate the chapters of ‘The Firewall Saga’ and am currently replacing each chapter’s illustration with this commission.

If you are an artist that would like to produce images to go along with the story, please feel free to submit your ideas. I would really love to collaborate on this with like-minded creative people. Editorial advice, criticism, requests and random comments are all welcome. Remember to rate and subscribe if you like what you are reading and want to see more.

I just wanted to say thank you for following my new blook (I term I only learned upon visiting yours ~_*).
I learned a lot from looking at your format and really appreciate the direction it gave me. Mine is looking better already… and hopefully the story is good too.
So glad you found it useful 🙂
I got the idea from a helpful mod on the wordpress forums. She gave me this link to check out. really handy stuff http://en.support.wordpress.com/write-a-book/
keep writing, keep sharing. all the very best.
Thanks G. I definitely will.
Hi, I’m one of the admins at Artifacts of the Apocalypse and I was wondering if you might be interested in submitting to our publication. I realize that you have a writing project of your own here (and an interesting one at that) but the way AotA works is we publish short, flash fiction (see submission tab at http://www.artifactsoftheapocalypse.blogspot.com ) and then the author gets a link back to their website on our page. Feel free to delete this post after you’ve read it, I’m not trying to spam our site on your page, we are just always looking for new writers and I didn’t see another way to contact you on here. If you are interested check out the site and email artifactsoftheapocalypse@gmail.com
Thanks,
A.A.
Hey man! Saw you on Jennifer M Eaton’s Write a story with her. We gotta write about fairies, huh? This will be interesting! I signed up before I realised that, by the way. 🙂 I’d be interested in reading your stuff. Will find a chisel, wedge, shoehorn, whatever to get more hours into the day and I’ll be right. Looking forward to it.
Cheers,
R
Hi Richard,
Nice to meet you, thank’s for the follow. 🙂
I liked the way the story was evolving so I figured I’d throw my hat in the ring and see what direction I could steer it in.
Hi, I’ve nominated you for The Next Big Thing. You basically answer these 10 interview-style questions about your up coming novel. Mine goes up tomorrow, Wed 19 and I’ve linked you. You would put yours up on 26th or any Wednesday you have time, given the season! 😉
Cheers!

6. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
7. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
8. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
9. Who or What inspired you to write this book?
10. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Thanks Richard 🙂
I’ll keep an eye out for the post.
Hmmm. Interesting looking blog…
Thank you, I guess 🙂
Took a look. I wish you all the best – funding your book. I found crowd funding to be really difficult. However you have an interesting story and the illustrations are strong so hopefully your community here is responsive…
My Facebook wasn’t enough.
Hi,
I am going into interior products design for childrens based on tree houses and inside dens etc. One name keeps coming to mind from my childhood which is Timbertwig! Do you still own the rights to it? I am thinking to perhaps call the company Timbertwig after my childhood memory but was not sure if it was allowed?
Thanks Laura
I’m not sure why you would think that I own the rights to the name Timbertwig, but it’s awesome that you asked because I also remember the name from my childhood. Timbertwig was/is a character created for the Storyteller series of read along books by the publishing company Marshall Cavendish. If anyone owns the rights to the name it’s them, but I’m not sure they even still exist in that form anymore. Google tells me they are now a subsidiary of Time publishing.
